Perfect for hot summer days, this delicious sorbet makes for the perfect summer treat. With just 3 simple ingredients you’ll have the most perfect mango sorbet to cool off with!

What you will need

  • Frozen Mangoes – You can use fresh mangoes too! You peel, slice and freeze beforehand. I like buying big bags of organic frozen mango chunks
  • Raw Honey – To sweeten this delicious treat.
  • Milk – Makes for a smoother texture
  • Freshly squeezed lime juice – Just a touch to enhance the mango flavor – lemon juice works great too (this is optional)

Why you’ll love this homemade sorbet:

  • First off, you don’t need any special equipment like an ice cream machine, just a good high-powered blender will do the job!
  • All you need is some frozen fruit, which makes this sweet treat quick and easy! No peeling or cutting up fruit (unless you choose to use fresh fruit)
  • Made with raw honey, or other natural sweeteners like agave syrup, maple syrup, or no added sugar at all
  • Better than any kind you can get at the grocery stores, better ingredients, and tastes so much better too

Can I use fresh mangoes?

Yes, absolutely! You will just have to peel the mangoes, cut and freeze them before blending all of you ingredients.  I personally just like using already frozen mangoes because it just makes this recipe that much faster.

What kind of sweetener can I use?

This recipe calls for honey, I like using raw honey! However, you can use sugar, pure maple syrup, agave nectar, etc. And if you want to go sugar free, that’s an option as well. If you go sugar free, this mango sorbet recipe may be a little tart, but it’s not a big deal to leave the sugar out if that’s okay with you! Feel free to adjust the sugar ratio to your preference. I personally don’t like my sorbet too sweet!  But if you prefer it to be more sweet, taste test as you blend and feel free to add more as you go!

What kind of milk should I use?

I love using raw milk, but you can use any milk of choice! Coconut milk is a great option if you want to add a little bit of a tropical flavor to your homemade peach sorbet. Feel free to also use almond milk, oat milk, etc.

Can I use a blender?

Yes you can! If you don’t have a food processor you can absolutely use a bender. If you don’t have a heavy duty blender, it might take a little more time and a tamper stick to get the smooth consistency, but you will eventually get there!

Do I have to use a loaf pan?

Nope! You can use any freezer safe container.

Do I need an ice cream maker?

No, for this recipe you will not need an ice cream maker! Just a few simple ingredients, and a food processor/blender.

Do I have to use frozen mangoes?

Yes, for the best results the mangoes need to be frozen. It’s really hard to achieve a creamy sorbet if the mangoes are not frozen beforehand.

Can I use other fresh fruit?

Yes! That’s the best part of making anything yourself.  You can add in any other fruits that you would like.

Ingredients

  • 2 heaping cups of frozen mangos chunks
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • ¼ cup milk

Instructions

  1. Add frozen mangoes, honey, milk of choice and lime/lemon juice (optional)  to the food processor as well then blend until smooth. If using a blender, you will likely need a tamper stick, or use something like a rubber spatula to help it blend smooth. Feel free to also add a small amount of milk, if needed. Just be careful not to add too much or your sorbet will not have that creamy texture you’re looking for.
  2. Sorbet should have a perfect silky smooth texture after blending, if so, it’s ready to serve! If not, skip straight to the next step
  3. Transfer the mixture to a freezer safe container, I use a loaf pan,  then smooth it out with a spoon or spatula. Seal the airtight container and place in the freezer for about 4 hours. Sorbet should be firm enough to scoop . If it’s too firm, let it sit out for a little bit – 20-30 minutes to soften. Serve and enjoy!
